Monti Lessini
Wine · PDO · 27 municipalities
Recognised since 2004 and renamed in 2011, the Monti Lessini DOC covers 27 Veneto municipalities, including Arzignano and Badia Calavena. While the historic Lessini Durello DOC continues alongside it, this appellation distinguishes itself with strict rules for its Spumante Crémant. For this sparkling style, hand harvested grapes must yield at most 100 liters of must per 150 kilograms of fruit, followed by at least 18 months on the lees. Currently, 35 verified producers make these dry, full-bodied wines using at least 85% Durella grapes, resulting in a straw yellow color and delicately fruity aroma.
