Sardegna Semidano
Wine · PDO · 377 municipalities
Recognized since 2004, the Sardegna Semidano DOC covers 377 Sardinian municipalities, from Abbasanta to Albagiara, but distinguishes itself by championing the Semidano grape, which must make up at least 85% of the blend. Uniquely, this denomination completely excludes any riserva designation across all of its styles, including its sparkling spumante and air-dried passito. While the island-wide base allows yields up to 13.0 tonnes per hectare, the specialized Mogoro sub-zone tightens this limit to 11 tonnes. Despite these rules, official registries currently list zero verified producers, leaving this sapid, straw-yellow white wine a dormant regional specialty.
