The monovarietal Sangiovese must contain a minimum of 95% Sangiovese, aged for at least 18 months. Furthermore, the appellation mandates that its Rosso Riserva, aged for at least 24 months, must be sealed exclusively with a natural cork stopper. This rule, alongside the option to print 'Toscana' directly below the DOC name, defines the output of the 16 verified producers.
