Venezia
Wine · PDO · 138 municipalities
Established in 2011, the Venezia DOC covers a production zone of 138 Veneto municipalities, including Altivole and Annone Veneto. Unlike neighboring designations with narrower profiles, this appellation differentiates itself by accommodating an exceptionally broad spectrum of monovarietal typologies. It permits fifteen distinct single-varietal wines—including Carmenère, Malbech, and Manzoni bianco—each requiring a strict minimum of 85% of the declared grape. Its primary red blend, however, relies on at least 50% Merlot to produce dry, velvety wines with a minimum alcohol content of 11.0% vol, which can carry the Riserva designation after aging for 24 months.
