Verduno Pelaverga
Wine · PDO · 3 municipalities
Recognized since 2004, the Verduno Pelaverga DOC carves out a highly localized production zone in Piedmont, restricted to the three municipalities of Verduno, La Morra, and Roddi. Unlike its neighbors, this denomination centers on the Pelaverga piccolo grape, which must comprise at least 85% of the blend, coupled with a maximum yield of 9.0 tonnes per hectare. The resulting wine delivers a dry, fresh, and characteristically velvety flavor with an intensely fragrant, spicy aroma. Notably, no Riserva category exists for this denomination; instead, the finished wine is released starting March 1 of the year following the harvest.
