Gradoli

Gradoli's steep volcanic slopes, rising above the northwestern shore of Lake Bolsena, carve out a unique microclimate where 17 protected denominations overlap. Chief among these is the highly localized Aleatico di Gradoli DOC, a luscious red wine cultivated on tufa-rich soils that exist nowhere else. This mineral-heavy lakeside terrain also shapes the delicate Lenticchia di Onano IGP, a prized lentil grown in just six nearby municipalities. The dramatic crater-edge geography of northern Lazio infuses each harvest with a distinct basaltic signature, making this small commune a concentrated powerhouse of certified Italian gastronomy.
